So for any of you fans who like to brag about Twilight’s big box office numbers, here are some stats that’ll put a smile on your face, courtesy of the L.A. Times.

First off, New Moon destroyed the midnight opening sales record set by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, dragging in $26 million.

Next, New Moon still holds the record as the number one advance ticket seller of all time, according to MovieTickets.com and Fandango.

Probably most exciting, it looks like New Moon had the biggest opening day gross in history on Friday, even beating the record set by The Dark Knight. The numbers aren’t official just yet, but click here to see what the experts are saying.

Finally, when all is said and done, analysts seem to think that New Moon will be the second highest grossing film of 2009, falling just shy of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

All in all, something to be proud of, Twi-hards!
